Independent and Skilled Workers
By: ()
Independent immigrants must be able to obtain a certain number of points based on their personal skills, education and characteristics. They must also have work experience in specified fields of employment. We can help you prepare your application and advise you regarding the inadmissibility provisions of theImmigration Act.
If your skills or occupation is not a listed occupation for which Immigration Canada lists points, don’t give up! That may not be the end. It may be possible to obtain approval for your immigration through another category, or with the assistance of a Human Resources Development Canada Job Validation.
If you are an Independent or Skilled Worker who is considering immigrating to Canada, please complete our On-line Immigration Assessment form and read Bars to Admissions to Canada.
Normally, someone who wants to work in Canada must be a Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant (permanent residents). However, for some types of workers it may be possible to gain temporary admission.
